1. What conditions or symptoms can the doctor treat using the online telemedicine platform?
Most common sleep complaints can be addressed at least initially via a video visit. Nevertheless, if you have severe medical problems or are experiencing an emergency, this is not the right option for you. Also, this service does not replace your primary care provider. The doctor can discuss during the video visit whether you would benefit from a face to face visit with a sleep specialist. See this page for some examples of conditions/symptoms we can assist with.
2. How soon can I schedule my visit? What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
Our goal is to offer you a convenient service. One you are ready to schedule your visit, the first step will be to get an invitation to join our virtual practice via Push Health. Once you are a patient in our practice, you will be able to request a specific appointment day/time. We can typically see patients within 48 hours. Once your appointment is confirmed, payment will be processed via Push Health. You will receive a full refund if your appointment is cancelled or if we cannot schedule you at your requested time. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, email or call us no less than 24 hours prior to your appointment time. Visit this page for further details.
3. How can I get a home sleep test for sleep apnea?
This can be prescribed by your primary care or other provider after a visit or we can prescribe it for you. Our home sleep test is non-invasive. You can complete it in the comfort of your own home whenever it is most convenient for you. After we schedule the test, you will receive the device via mail with instructions on how to use it. Phone support is available 24h per day. After obtaining a good test, simply mail it back and we will analyze and interpret the data. You will receive a full report issued by our doctor.
4. Does the doctor issue prescriptions?
Our doctor is able to write prescriptions for many medications (excludes controlled substances, per state and federal regulations) and also order laboratory tests via PushHealth.
5. Will I receive a copy of my medical record?
Because we value our patients and believe that the way we practice sleep medicine can only be effective if there is a close partnership between the doctor and the patient, we will always keep you informed and you will receive copies of all your records at no charge.
6. Can I send the doctor my records from prior sleep medicine providers?
You may upload documents for our review via Push Health. We encourage all new patients to send us all records that would help us understand their health better including their primary doctor’s clinic notes. If you have additional records you would like us to review.
7. Do you accept medical commercial health insurance?
At this time, we do not accept commercial insurance. In the era of rising healthcare costs and high deductibles / co-payments, we have tried to keep our fees as affordable as possible.
If your insurance benefits include sleep studies (at home or at a sleep laboratory) we can issue a prescription that you can use at a laboratory contracted with your insurance plan.
Email us if you have a specific question about how we can help you improve your sleep.
